I started writing this post about three weeks ago - when Campbell was in the hospital......so keep that in mind as you start reading below..........
so we are in the hospital with campbell and have been here since sat night. The computer I am using is funky, so this will be short and sweet...
Saturday I noticed she was acting strange- longer naps, lots of crying, hardly nursing, lack of wet diapers. Then she woke up in late afternoon burning up. I took her underarm temp and it was 99.1 which you can equate to 100.1. So we called the nurse line and she suggested we head to the ER.
We arrived and thankfully were the only ones there and were seen right away. B/C of her age, the dr immediately told us we would be staying at least 24 hours and that they would do lots of tests- blood, urine, chest x ray, and spinal tap.
So far all cultures indicate that this is just a virus (and now this is where I come back to real time) and thankfully that's all is was. We spent three nights in the hospital and poor lil C was pumped full of antibiotics, and pricked more than a little body should be. It is so sad to think that between the NICU and PICU she has had 5 days worth of antibiotics, and at almost 2, Brennan has not had any. How does that even make sense?
Campbell is now thriving - such a great nurser and growing growing growing!!!!!
