Chiropractic Update

So I went to see Dr. Nancy yesterday - she works with mucho preggo women, and has an extra certification to do so (and the special preggo table!) which made me feel good. She was soooo nice. After some prelim testing, she came in and we talked and she did the adjustment. It was so quick and easy and painless (not sure what i was expecting). She definitely thinks it is related to my IT Band Syndrome which has been an ongoing issue FOREVER (thanks genes, gymnastics, running, and rowing!). Going back tomorrow and soon will be on the prenatal schedule, which basically means I go in whenever I have my monthly dr appt. Sounds like a plan! Really need to loosen up my hip to release my back pain!

Had yoga last night too - so relaxing! I love that Mimi includes so much stretching and relaxation (and always extends class for us!) - so nice. It is hard sometimes though.

Baby was totally active last night after all that in the afternoon/evening. And guess who else was - little B-Man! I may have slept 4 hours total (partly b/c I got totally caught up in an episode of Intervention and stayed up too late!) - did his little belly hurt after eating a blue highlighter while I was at yoga last night? Maybe. I was grouchy. Dad had to take him last night.

Woke up this morning very very crampy - not sure what that is a sign of - has since gone away. May have been some contractions too - braxton hicks, though at 26 weeks, that seems early, but maybe not. Feeling sore this morning. Must be the adjustment, yogo, lack of sleep (and being kicked in the back, head, and face by my child) that has me feeling a little off today........ Thinking good thoughts for tonight!

Prenatal Chiropractor

I think I am going to go to a prenatal chiropractor - have put some feelers out with two friends who are married to chiropractors, and emailed a few clinics about their services for the pregos. My back is just not quite right - it is not pain, but feels off kilter, so might as well get adjusted. Went to the indymoms website and found some recommendations on there as well.

stretching!

So last night as I was trying to go to sleep, I could not get comfortable - I just felt like my body was stretching - especially my belly area - it felt like it was pulling, no matter how many pillows were under me or how I was laying. Then I woke up at 4am, yes, like really woke up. So I got up and watched an episode of Intervention.

Hired my doula - YAY! She is a hypno-doula and awesome!

Also - will be starting my hypnobabies study soon - by April.....

Bought some clothes for the Baby Girl via ebay - found the cutest stuff that was hardly worn!

Yoga

Started pre-natal yoga tonight - it was really enjoyable! Looking forward to going back next week. Very relaxing. The hour and 15 minutes went by so quickly. :)

doula

This morning I had a meeting with a hypno-doula/doula. It was a great meeting - I am really excited to start my practice in Hypno-babies and also hire a doula. It was reaffirming - very reaffirming.

Starting pre-natal yoga next week - I had been doing pilates up until now, but it is getting difficult and I feel like i need something designed for pregnant women, especially with the back pain that I have!

How many weeks am I again?

Hey all - I cannot keep track this time with how far along I am! Maybe around 24 weeks? Anyway, had a dr. appt this morning which went really well! I have gained about 20 lbs, am measuring perfectly, and the heartbeat is nice and fast!

Monday morning I am meeting a hypno-doula for coffee - so excited about that! And my Dr. told me that the doula she referred to me mentioned that I called (though she has not called me back yet - interesting) so hopefully we will connect soon as well and I can start moving forward on this process.

Watched a very interesting documentary last time that I rented from Blockbuster All Access called The Business of Giving Birth. You all may remember it if you remember the Ricki Lake home birth controversy a few years back. Well, I will be writing about it on my Girl named Kyle blog, if you want my thoughts. In a nutshell - every preggo and husband should watch it and it just confirmed my thoughts and opinions on birth in America and how we are headed down the wrong path (seriously, I am shocked at home many people I know that choose to have a second c-section - seriously - not trying to judge, but I just don't get it - not at all - whatever - I wish the first ones didn't happen in the first place, but now I am really getting on a soapbox). Bottom line - watching this video just reaffirmed my desire to trust my body and have this baby as nature intended - without intervention. I cried every time a baby was born during this documentary - seriously, I was sobbing. Granted, I am hormonal, but it also just speaks to the beauty of birth!
