My Cold

Having a cold without being able to take medication is not fun! I am sucking on all natural lemon drops and blowing my nose like it is going out of style. Not to mention, the headaches are only intensified!

On a brighter note, PJ and I bought a new book today, "The Baby Name Wizard" to help us narrow down some ideas and hopefully come to an agreement on a girl's name. We have one name that we really like for a boy, and even though we are going to find out the sex....it is probably a good idea to have a name for a boy and girl, just in case the doctors are wrong! But don't ask, we're not telling any names.....

So this week I am headed back to see my doctor for bloodwork. When I went before, since it was right after Christmas, we just did the main prego test, and decided to hold off on the rest. Next step - find an Ob-Gyn.....and we have no idea where to start! Luckily, both of the family doctors we see on a regular basis at the practice, well one's wife is pregnant, and the other's just had a baby, so I guess I can ask both of them!

I can still feel my stomach stretching! I know that sounds strange, but I always could tell when I was ovulating, so it really does not surprise me much that I can feel things going on now. It almost feels like I am stretching, except for that I am not moving! I am so tired already. Last night I think I feel asleep before 8pm and didn't get officially out of bed until 10am this morning! And for me, that is a lot!

We're having a baby!

I had a feeling that something was going on with my body....and then the monthly friend never arrived and I really knew. So I took not one, but two home pregnancy tests, two days in a row....just in case, the two days after Christmas. Then called the doctor. PJ met me there, and even though I was fairly certain that the 99% accurate test was correct, it made it even more real to hear it from the doctor!

As early as I am right now, I can definitely already feel some changes in my body. I have the typical tenderness, but these dang headaches hurt a lot (the doctor said it was my body's version of morning sickness - though the quesiness has set in today)! Plus I can feel a lot of movement in my stomach - most likely the muscles expanding and my uterus growing. It is a hard feeling to explain.

We have already started thinking of the next steps - doctors, names, hospitals, etc..... and may have a name or two ready to go! But.....we're not telling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will find out the sex of the baby and share that with you all - you know, so we can plan!

This is a really exciting but overwhelming time. It is amazing how fast your mind starts working when it is REAL!
